IMSA LMP2

LMP2 is the second fastest class at the IMSA Weathertech Sportscar Championship, but unlike the GTP cars, there are some technical restrictions which LMH and LMDh don't have.

Na LMP2, especialmente no campeonato de 2023, todas as equipes usam o mesmo chassis, no caso o Oreca 07, com custo homologado em torno de US$506.000,00, usando motor Gibson V8 4.2L, com 500cv de potência.

And let's check below the driver regulation at the LMP2 class:

1. ROLEX 24 AT DAYTONA

- All the teams must have 4 drivers each car;

- A minimum of 1 bronze driver is mandatory;

- A maximum of 1 platinum + 1 gold rated driver or a maximum of 2 gold rated drivers are allowded in each car.

2. 12H SEBRING, SAHLEN SIX HOURS AT THE GLEN, IMSA BATTLE ON THE BRICKS AND PETIT LE MANS

- All the teams must have 3 drivers each car;

- A minimum of 1 bronze driver is mandatory;

- A maximum of 1 platinum or 1 gold rated driver is allowded in each car.

3. SPRINT ROUNDS

- All the teams must have 2 drivers each car;

- A minimum of 1 bronze driver is mandatory;

- A maximum of 1 platinum or 1 gold rated driver is allowded in each car.

In all the 3 cases above, it's mandatory the bronze rated driver to qualify at the LMP2 class and also to start the races.
